Urban Forests (individual trees, avenues, groups of trees, and forests near cities) are becoming increasingly important because they provide a variety of important ecosystem services, including recreation, leisure, and microclimate. In the future, Urban Forests will take on an even more important role as a result of societal changes and climate change. In this context, the following questions arise: What are the challenges, risks and opportunities that cities will face as a result of this development? How can these be addressed? In this course, you will learn about urban strategies and concepts to adequately deal with these challenges, prevent risks and exploit opportunities. In addition, you will discuss these using concrete examples from practice.
